Monthiversary

Yesterday marked 16 months since Forrest and I got married. We always try to do something special together on our "monthiversary", as we call it. To me, it is a fun way not only to remember our wedding day but also a great excuse to have a special date night. Sometimes we go out for dinner, other times we just stay in. Last night, since Forrest is on Fall Break and home in Gadsden all day, he cooked one of our favorite dinners--breakfast! He made chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage! After dinner we took a walk with the dogs and then it was time for pumpkin carving! Last year we didn't do a pumpkin and I'm not really sure why. I picked us up one on Sunday at ALDI for $1.99. Yep, that's right, a perfect pumpkin for only $1.99! I should have bought more but I have this tiny fear that Sonny is going to think the pumpkins in the neighborhood are balls and will chew them up, so I didn't want to put a lot of money into the purchase!
Forrest was an EXPERT pumpkin carver! I did the easy eyes and nose but he used his steady dentist hands to do the mouth and teeth (of COURSE our pumpkin has teeth!).

All smiles!

Once he was finished we put him in the front yard next to the "Happy Haunting" sign my mom gave me.

Then, Forrest decided that the pumpkin wasn't quite right--he needed braces! He fashioned some pretty amazing pumpkin braces, if you ask me!!

Happy Halloween!
Just for fun, here is a look at the rest of the fall decor going on at the Bailey house. I don't usually do much decorating outside, especially now that we have Sonny, who tends to retrieve things, but here are pics of the few things I did do!

New doormat from the Treasure Hunt--it was only $12!
