Yep, I am 28! You know how much I love birthdays, but I wanted this one to be a little more low key since we were still running on fumes from Christmas and New Years. My Aunt Sue took me to lunch on Friday afternoon and we celebrated on Friday night with my parents and Forrest's parents at the Courtyard. Then, Justin and Farrah took us to see Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was VERY intense and I was not at all prepared for the story line, but it was still a very good movie. I am sure it will get some Oscar nominations, if I had to guess. On Saturday Forrest gave me exactly what I wanted for my bday--a day of doing NOTHING!!! That is exactly what I did---nothing. I laid around, watched tv, and just tried to relax and rest. We did go to church and picked up some masaman curry from KATI and ate it at my parents', but other than that and a few errands on the way home, I was totally lazy. I just NEED a day like that every now and then, and what a great present! On Sunday, it was more of the same, sort of. I didn't want to go anywhere but with my newly found energy, I baked, cleaned, and got some things organized. We had birthday dinner with my parents and sister and over all that was about it for the weekend. We will be having my "birthday party" tonight for the BCS National Championship game. I tend to attach my birthday to any event that happens around it, and lately that has been the big game. Wish us luck!!! I am super nervous!! RTR!
Sweet flowers from our neighbors, the Gandhi's. What a fun birthday surprise!
They even picked my favorite color! :)
I do want to say "thanks" for all of the sweet calls, texts, and facebook messages wishing me a happy birthday. That is the best part of the day: being reminded how blessed you are to have such wonderful family and friends behind you!
