Liebster Award

I have been away from blogging for a while due to a FAB trip to Miami for my birthday and the National Championship game. To my surprise, when I returned to the world of blog, I had received the Liebster blog award from my friend Lauren. If you aren't a follower of Lauren's blog, you should be! She and her husband Joseph went to high school with Forrest and I and I love keeping up with them and their darling little boy Hudson!

I really appreciate Lauren nominating me for this award. I absolutely love blogging. I do it for me, both for the sake of preserving our memories and because I love to write. I also love reading blogs, so if I can help promote them, I will! The Liebster award comes with a few rules:

The Rules

1. List 11 facts about yourself.
2. Answer the 11 questions given to you.
3. Create 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate for the award.
4. Choose bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.
5. Go to each bloggers' page and let them know about the award.
6. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.

Ok, here we go with 11 facts about myself:
1. I danced ballet and jazz for 12 years. I even could dance on pointe! I loved, loved loved dancing and wish that I could find somewhere that did adult lessons! One of my all time favorite life memories was doing my senior solo.
2. The top 3 scariest movies to me are as follows: 1) ET; 2) Never Ending Story; 3) Return to Oz. For realz.
3. I never ever ever cooked until I got married. I mean, I may have helped my mom bake every now and then but I honestly had never cooked anything by myself from start to finish until I was married. I just didn't see the point. And now, well, you all know I am obsessed.
4. I have never had a cavity or broken any bones--knock on wood.
5. Forrest and I started dating during my senior year of high school (his junior year). He was my prom date! We have been together ever since! We had been dating for 6 years when he flew to Greece and proposed to me (I was studying abroad in Rome and was in Greece for the weekend) and 7 years when we got married exactly a year later.
6. I cannot read in the car unless I want to get very very sick. This makes me super sad because I love to read!!
7. I eat lunch nearly every day by myself at my mom and dad's house. I love eating their left overs!
8. I do laundry on Thursdays--religiously.
9. I am really scared of heights, like, seriously. I don't really have any control over it and will start to panic. It is not fun. Despite this, I have bungee jumped. Like a fool.
10. I can play the piano and the clarinet!
11. I am generally up for anything--I have a "when in Rome" philosophy--may as well try things while you can! This applies to eating weird food, going on trips, doing things that scare me (even if it involves heights, hence the bungee jumping), just nothing illegal!
11 Questions for Lauren's Nominees

1 - What are 3 of your must visit places?
Alaska, Africa (like a safari), and the Galapagos Islands

2 - If you could relive one year of high school, what year would it be and why?
Um, is none of them an answer? I liked college 1000% times better than high school. Too much drama for me.

3 - If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
OMG this is HARD!! I'm thinking filet with mashed potatoes and a big salad? Or maybe something fancy like beef carpacio? Or could I just say "Thanksgiving"? Oh Lauren you ask tough questions!! If you can't tell, I love to eat!

4 - Use 4 words to describe yourself.
Thoughtful, Considerate, Determined, Organized

5 - If your life were made into a movie, who would you want to play you?
ME!!!

6 - Do you have any pet peeves?
Only like 1000. Gum smacking or popping of any kind, poor grammar, wearing a random team's colors to a football game when that team is not playing; people that wait until they are at the metal detectors at the airport to take off their shoes, belt, etc, thereby holding up the line, slow drivers AND those drivers that pull out in front of me, causing me to slam on my brakes when there are NO other cars behind me; the list could go on and on!!!

7 - If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
Food taste tester, actress, model, anything where you get free stuff just for being you.
For real though, a writer.
8 - What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
Laying in bed ALLLLLLL day!

9 - Who is your favorite singer?
Billy Joel

10 - Which household chore do you like the most? Hate the most?
I like doing most chores except vacuuming. I guess my favorite "chore" is just tidying up the house.

11 - If you won a million dollars overnight, what would you do with it?
Hard one again! I have so many things that I want to do in life. I'd say buy a plane so I could continue to travel and maybe an RV for Bama games! I would invest the bulk of it so that we would be taken care of AND so we could earn income to pay for the trips we would take every year. Finally, I'd give some sort of endowment to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. They are the greatest.

  1. Haha, LOVE your answers!! Good going on the no cavity thing. I have a feeling, being married to a dentist, you will never have one. Ever. :)
