Bump Update

I can't believe I'm already 15 weeks and into the second trimester! Here's the progress we've made so far:

Here I am at 15 weeks. The one on the right is a little misleading because I'm wearing a tight shirt and it's night time, when the bump is bigger from a full day of eating and drinking.
Total Weight Gain: 5 lbs 

Gender: We actually got an ultrasound at our 15 week appointment but the little rascal wasn't very cooperative! Hopefully we will find out next week at the ultrasound place. 

Maternity Clothes? I actually wore a borrowed maternity dress to the football game last Saturday. It looked just like a regular dress though. I am at a stage where I feel like people probably think I just have a gut, not a baby, under my dress so I'm a little self conscious about that. 

Stretch Marks? Let's cross our fingers for no!

Sleep: I'm much less exhausted now than I was a few weeks ago, but I generally can always take a nap if I lay down. Also if I have a really long day, then the next day I struggle. I feel much better if I can plug some down time into every day. 

Movement: No, but I'm waiting on it anxiously! 

Food Cravings: I've moved on from salty--now I really want salads and sandwiches! I think about Subway all the time. I know I'm not supposed to eat lunch meat so I just get the veggie sub, foot long, so I can save one half for later when I'm inevitably hungry again. I've gone from want to fill up my starving belly with anything and everything filling to wanting light meals. Seriously it was like a switch was flipped over night. 

Food Aversions: Nuts, still. However smother them in chocolate or bury them in cereal or trail mix and I can handle them much better. 

Symptoms: In the past 2 weeks my symptoms have really let up. I'm not nearly as hungry or tired as I used to be so that's great. I've been having sinus headaches lately but I don't think that's related. They tend to linger because I can't take my usual Advil, so I've had to go home a few times and be in the dark and quiet to feel better.  I have gotten extra thirsty in the past week though. I drink so many glasses of water a day it's ridiculous, and I'm not even forcing myself. I can't get in the car without a bottle of water. 

Belly Button In or Out? In

Wedding Rings On or Off? ON

Miss Anything? Not having to worry about myself. For example, Forrest and I went car shopping and to the football game on Saturday. We had to pack a cooler with water and fruit because I knew I'd get hungry and thirsty. I was so worried that I'd get too hot in the game. I was worried that I couldn't make it up the stadium steps (it's hard when you aren't growing another person). I was so worried about feeling bad the next day that we left after the 3rd quarter (granted, if it was a good opponent, I probably would have sucked it up). I know it's silly to worry but at the same time, what I do affects baby and I didn't want to do anything to hurt him or her.

Best Moment This Week: Getting to see our little baby again and finding out that it is still doing great! 

Looking Forward To: Finding out the gender next week! Baby better cooperate!!

  1. You look great! It's so weird how you can have a fairly flat stomach in the morning and then a bump in the afternoon. I'm 17 weeks today and just this week is when I started to feel like I kind of looked pregnant, and even then it comes and goes!
