I'm Loving It! Christmas for the Wine-O

Since it's Black Friday, I figured it was a good day to start talking Christmas gifts! This summer I was approached by Wine 2 Go to try out their super cool plastic wine flask. The only problem was, by they time it arrived, I had found out I was pregnant, so no wine for me!! They were super sweet and agreed to let me wait until football season so I could get a friend to use it during tailgating since I wouldn't be using it myself for a good while. My sister came down for the Bama v. Texas A&M game and she put that bad boy to work!!

That's right, she poured that whole bottle of wine into the Wine 2 Go!

The Wine 2 Go is a plastic flask that fits an entire bottle of wine---AN ENTIRE BOTTLE OF WINE I said!! It's so perfect because it is light weight and you don't have to worry about breaking it. You know those signs at the pool that say no glass bottles? Enter the Wine 2 Go. It also makes it really easy to chill wine in a cooler AND the lid is super secure so you don't have to worry about spills. My sister said they absolutely loved using it on the Quad in Tuscaloosa because it was light weight and they didn't have to worry that they might accidentally spill it. She liked it so much she is purchasing them for all of her girlfriends for Christmas, and I'm thinking along those same lines myself!! It is really the perfect present for those wine loving friends of yours--plus, it only costs $12.99 plus shipping. It's really the gift that keeps on giving, glass after glass! The sweet people of Wine 2 Go also make Flask 2 Go for any other drink carrying needs you may have!

Thank you SO much to Addie and the whole Wine 2 Go gang for hanging in there with me while I waited pretty much 24 weeks (aka my entire pregnancy thus far) to get their product used and reviewed. Please check them out!!! You won't be sorry--and you'll never haul around a wine bottle again!

Bump Update

It's been a while since I've done an update so here goes!!

 photo FF7EC04C-F6A3-4971-AE87-02FA07C2DAC8_zpsytuxws5s.jpg

This was me at 23 weeks. I'm nearly 25 now, so.........

Total Weight Gain: 18 lbs!!! I say this incredulously. I know I'm supposed to gain weight, I mean duh, and I'm right in line with where my doctor wants me to be, but gah--it's hard for me for some reason! 18 sounds like a lot!

Gender: GIRL!! A sweet little beautiful baby girl!!!

Maternity Clothes? "The time has come, the walrus said, to talk of many things." Feeling slightly walrus-y myself, that quote from Alice and Wonderland seemed fitting. Anyway, I broke down and upon the advice of my friend Denise who is due in December and is small like me, I ordered some maternity clothes from Old Navy. I got some jeans and 2 work skirts and a pair of legging that I've had on for nearly 40 hours. I don't know why I fought it so much because I was just delaying the inevitable. I can wear some of my regular sweater dresses but my old clothes are not really working for me any more. Hopefully I can get through the winter without having to spend much more. I have to applaud Old Navy for their comfy leggings, super low prices, and lightening fast shipping!

Stretch Marks? None so far! Fingers crossed!

Sleep: All good so far!

Movement: I have been feeling her for weeks apparently. However, people kept telling me it felt like flutters or butterflies. I never felt a single flutter--just pokes and something kind of like popping bubbles. I figured it was something digestive. Well, not so much. I thought I felt her on the way to Birmingham one night when Forrest had to slam on the brakes and I tensed up. I could have sworn she kicked the crap out of me so hard that I felt it from the outside while I was watching Alabama try to give the game away to Tennessee, but was convinced it was too early to feel her on the outside. (What I thought I felt kick me, I have no idea.) Then I  pretty much decided I felt her when I was at the Service Guild Rummage Sale Preview Party after I downed a giant Sprite. We were on our babymoon last week and while I was rocking my 2 piece I started to feel her so much that I could feel her on the outside. I wasn't sure but since my belly was bare I was watching and then  I SAW her move!! It was so freaky! Forrest saw it too and felt her kick his hand. It was amazing! Then I got in the pool and it was apparently too cold for my princess and she balled up and burrowed into my back. It scared me so much I started climbing out of the pool, which is NOT a graceful sight let me just say! I love now that I know I'm feeling her in there and it makes this whole process seem a lot more real.

Food Cravings: Bring on any and all food. The all inclusive babymoon was perfect for me.

Food Aversions: I'm over the nut thing, thank goodness!

Symptoms: I had my first leg cramp during pregnancy the other night. I used to get them terribly when I was little, so much so I would be screaming in my bed and my mom would have to come and press giant knots out of my legs. Every now and then I'll have one but I'm talking like 1 a year. I'm hoping that the one last night was a "one of" but I'm doubting it. My "cramp training" when I was little at least prepared me for what to do!

Belly Button In or Out? It is nearly flush with my belly--how weird is THAT! It really creeps me out. I don't like to look at it.

Wedding Rings On or Off? On. My hands aren't swelling any. My feet were frighteningly swollen on our trip to Cancun but I figure that was because of the flight and the humidity. Once I got back home I went back to normal. Note to myself: consider if squeezing giant sausage feet into tiny wedges was really worth it for those few days.

Miss Anything? Being able to bend over, cross my legs, and get out of bed normally. You would not imagine how crazy you feel when you have to THINK about what you are going to have to do to get yourself out of bed in the morning. This scares me because I have so much longer to go!

Best Moment This Week: Sharing our babymoon together! It was our last big trip (we have a couple of weekend adventures coming up but nothing major) before she comes. It was truly wonderful to just relax and be "us". I'm crying as I type this tiny paragraph--may take me a few days to recount the trip if I had to guess!

Looking Forward To: Setting up the nursery!  I have FINALLY chosen a bedding design and now it's time to choose fabrics and order things. I also need to buy a chair and side table and maybe a dresser or something. Oh and another note to self: don't forget to order fabric for a shower curtain and find someone who can monogram it.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone! This is our last one with out children! I have a feeling baby girl is going to be super awesome at the holiday eating this year, considering we currently eat all the time anyway....

Of Late...

So life will most definitely change when our sweet baby girl arrives, and being pregnant is a pretty big change in and of itself. I have tried my hardest to keep a normal routine when I'm feeling well and energized so I can soak up these last few months of baby-less-ness. Here is what we've been up to lately!

This picture sums up our past few weeks perfectly--fall and football.

Star power! One Friday night we went out to eat with several couples and Kelly brought along these tattoos. We thought they were cute so we all tatted up--what a riot.

We got our first baby mail! Aunt Karen and Uncle Tommy sent us this cute tshirt and headband from Colorado. I can't wait for Little Miss to wear it!

Our friends the Gandhis hosted a pumpkin carving party--it was SUCH a fun idea!! Mine is the sad dark one. I thought I could get away easy with drilling holes into the sides to make polka dots but they weren't big enough. Pumpkin carving fail!!

We've still been making our way to see the Tide play despite my rapidly expanding belly! This was at the Texas A&M game where we totally shut them out! ROLL TIDE!!

Every other year we tag along with my parents and their friends as they make their annual pilgrimage to Gatlinburg. Forrest and I enjoy a long weekend and having a little time to ourselves without worrying about laundry, yard work, etc. Here we are in the mirror maze!

Halloween as a prego is SO much fun! I dressed as my dad--beer belly and all! It was a hoot!

How I Told

Telling people you are pregnant is a weird thing, at least it was to me. It's exciting and scary and a little something else I can't put my finger quite on. I wish I was one of those people who planned cute ways to tell big news, but unfortunately I'm neither creative nor good at keeping my mouth shut, so I end up blurting out good news most of the time. Here are some of the most memorable ways I got to tell people we are expecting:

1. Forrest--I was convinced that I wasn't pregnant, so much so that I threw a little pity party for myself the night before I found out. But, on July 1, 2014, the plus sign appeared, and I had news to share. I knew Forrest wouldn't want me to wait (he's still upset I didn't tell him when I dropped his wallet off at his front desk that morning), so I assumed I'd tell him when he got home from work. I'd have all day to look at Pinterest and try to be clever. No such luck. I suppose since I'd had a bad evening the night before, he decided to invite me to lunch that day to make me feel better. I knew I'd never be able to keep my mouth shut, so I ended up telling him in the parking lot of the restaurant. It may not have been glamorous, but it was surreal. Boys get to propose, and girls get to tell husbands they are having their baby. I will never forget the way he looked at me and smiled.....
2. My sister--Auntie M got a video from Ruffles. She is always asking for "Ruffles videos" and they usually involve Ruffles "singing" or "talking" to Auntie M. This time she sang "Auntie M is an AUNT". It was so much fun to hit send and then wait for her to respond!
3. My mom--I don't know why but I was shaking nervous to tell my mom. My dad foiled my plan by insisting we take the whole office to lunch, when I had wanted to tell my mom at her house during lunch. I went after lunch because I just couldn't stand it and told her she was going to be a "real Momsie", the grandmother name she picked out years ago and that Ruffles "calls" her.
4. My dad and brother--we were all going to the lake as a family on July 3rd, which afforded us a great opportunity to tell them and celebrate with just our family. Both of them looked kind of shocked actually.
5. Farrah--Justin and Farrah celebrated their 3 year anniversary and I used it to my advantage. I had a bottle of champagne wrapped and signed the card from "Catherine, Forrest, and BABY Bailey". Chaos ensued.
6. Claire--We'd been at many events with Claire and Jay and Claire caught on to the fact that I wasn't drinking, apparently. When we went to dinner with a group at Canyon Grill, she took me to the bathroom and instructed me to "blink once for no and twice for yes" and then asked if I was pregnant. I of course blinked twice.
7. Randi--I am really good at using friend's situations to my own personal advantage, or so it seems. Randi was having her tonsils out and so I sent her flowers with the same from "Catherine, Forrest, and BABY" card on them. It was hilarious because she couldn't talk to call me. I also had to get the flower lady to write at the bottom of the card that she still had to keep it a secret. Best card ever.
8. Deborah--I was most worked up about telling Deborah because she had gone to great lengths to get to me to tell me when she was expecting. It worked out perfectly that we were going to see each other in ATL for the first Alabama game. When I told her she scream and gave me the biggest hug and then paraded me around the tailgate to tell everyone, including strangers. So much fun.
9. Jenny--Jenny has been on me to have a baby for a while so she always would give me the "eye" when she noticed that I wasn't drinking wine, pregnant or not. She and Farrah and I planned a quick dinner and movie date one random week night and I KNEW she would notice I didn't order a wine so I had to tell her that there was a possibility I was expecting but I wouldn't know until the following week. Well, she text me the following week wanting to know if I knew or not and since I was at dinner with my parents (only my mom knew at the time) and a bunch of their friends I couldn't talk so I just sent back the baby emoji. Yes, I told her via text and by emoji. She called immediately and I answered her screaming phone call and had to calmly say I was busy and couldn't talk, even though I was anything but calm!
